The Nilgai- she came to us from Sector 16 film city. She lost her calf in an accident and fractured her right fore leg there- animal coming in conflict with the intruding humanity. Nilgais have lived on the banks of the Yamuna for aeons and die regularly as they get entangled in the fast moving traffic of Noida and Greater Noida expressway. Dr. Narkhede scrounged for antibiotics and anesthesia, which are in short supply with NOIDA authority babus squeezing hard the lifeline of funds and eventually managed to get some to successfully perform an amputation. For all his efforts he got a kick from the Nilgai, while tending to it, which nearly broke his skull! With a daily struggle on for medicines, lack of antibiotics may make it difficult for the creature to recover.
